What If Santa Drove a Car?

Santa Claus is famous for his red-and-white outfit, glorious beard, and herd of reindeer to pull his sleigh full of presents. But what if Saint Nick traded in reindeer hooves for horsepower?

We picked the top five cars we think Santa would drive, what color they’d be, and why he’d park them in his stables next to Rudolph and the crew.

For speed and fun: Audi R8 V10 Plus in snow white

When Santa needs to get away from all that toy-making stress, we think he’d pick the Audi R8. The R8’s two-door body with carbon fiber accents axnd sharp creases make it stand out from other sports cars. It takes 3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, great for taking a joyride to feel the wind in your hair. Or beard.

To stay trendy: Tesla Model S P100D in silver bells

The Tesla Model S beats out all other sedans for speed. And since it’s a pure-electric vehicle, Santa can accelerate to astonishing speeds without any noise from the front and rear electric motors. The Tesla Model S is also a practical choice for someone who has to deliver gifts all over the world: it can travel over 300 miles on a single battery charge.

For hauling gifts: Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in blue Christmas

If Santa Claus is worried about traversing over mountains, deserts and forests to deliver presents, something rugged with easy handling like the Chevy Silverado will do the job. It’s not as flashy as a sports car, but this big truck can adapt to various kinds of terrain, providing a smooth ride while handling a lot of precious cargo.

To play it safe: Toyota Camry XLE in evergreen

The humble Toyota Camry ranks high on the list of safest 2018 cars by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Sure, it’s not the coolest of cars, but it’s a solid choice for an inexpensive midsize car. Accidents can happen to everyone–even old Saint Nick–so it’s a good idea to have a practical car in your stable that everyone in the family can drive.

For a real splurge: Lamborghini Huracán in merry red

The very name “Lamborghini” implies luxury and style, and the Huracán (Spanish for “hurricane”) is aptly named for its awe-inspiring power. The Huracán reaches 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and blows past a quarter-mile in just 10.2 seconds. A sleek aerodynamic exterior and deluxe cockpit are dripping with style. We think Santa would look even cooler in a festive red Huracán, but let’s face it: he’d look cool in any color Lambo.
